No it wasn’t (bought legally). The suspect has been known to authorities since he was 14 (Town Hall dot com). He “refused further treatment” (mental). That should have flagged his records that second. Authorities find it impossible for their pea brains to grasp that a criminal background check might stop ‘criminals’ from getting a weapon, but they are not the ones that do mass shootings, psychopaths are. Mental health records have to be integrated into the background check. The mental health question is on the purchase form, but for some reason they leave it to the individual to self identify. That’s ridiculous.
