Being banned yesterday by the Gateway Pundit left me shaking my head. Just 10 days before I’d been banned by the Western Journal (5/14/20 update: Then Facebook got me last night!). Both “conservative” sites. I was on another site that uses Disqus, WND.com , when I saw the profile above. She/he/it doing the sexual services advertising has been a member for 9 years, since 2011. She shows a risqué photo and advertises for “handjobs”. Yet this person has been a member for 9 years, I didn’t make it a month. I just find it odd. All I did was spout some very firm political views. A nice rack will evidently trump freedom of speech every time.

[Then, to top it all off, this post exposed something else. 9 months ago I had started this blog because of the unwieldy nature of the WordPress blog system. The creation of this blog was an unintended accident. I eventually got it figured out, but something became strangely apparent. Having been blogging for 14 years now I had never seen anything like it. I don’t think this blog got 1 honest ‘hit’ in those 9 months. Not 1! I couldn’t imagine a blog so completely under the radar. Its like it had some sort of Romulan cloaking device on it. It was completely invisible. Then! The very moment I make this post with the attractive young lass with her boobies hanging out, I get hits. All those months filled with brilliant writings on Politics & Religion, nothing. But the moment I put up a picture of a big breasted young lass, then I get hits. “Hits for tits” as they say. I think I’ll go ahead and run some really good pics. The type like the ones that appear on your Facebook “people you may know” recommendations. I can assure you I don’t know any women like that. So if pictures of half naked women get hits, lets see how many I can get!]

Then! YouTube and WND ads had these two beauts it seemed appropriate to add here:

This is an artsy photo I saw on Gab, very odd but very neat.

Free speech?

In an ultimate bit of irony, Milo’s free speech was banned by Twitter

Hoo dog! It has been an interesting ride surfing internet chat rooms (comment sections of websites). The latest one to kick me off is Western Journal. I can’t even remember all the ones who have banned me. Its not for George Carlin’s 7 Dirty Words list, its for Wrong Think. I don’t play the Democrat vs Republican game. In fact I don’t even get that worked up about Commie Crats, I figure they’re going to do what they’re going to do. If anything the ones that send me over the edge are RINOs, and websites that focus on style over substance.

I remember I didn’t last 1 day at the Des Moines Register’s site. What libs do is constantly “report” you and two things happen. 1.) Terms of service are written so vaguely that you can get anyone for anything at any given time if you want to. 2.) Moderators get tired of seeing your name so they deal with it by getting rid of you.

Its frustrating. I purposely sought out these alternative sites like WJ because I knew of the blatant censorship of conservatives at Twitter, YouTube and Facebook (I cannot believe I haven’t been kicked off Facebook yet). World Net Daily has the strictest speech code I’ve found. I used the term ‘retard’ to identify some group of politicians and they censored that! What’s the world coming to when you can’t call someone retard?

The Gateway Pundit got me this morning because I had pointed out in an article about Jennifer Rubin (Jew I assume) of WaPo fame, that Jews, homosexuals and Mexicans really don’t like Trump, and they censored that! Personally I can’t think of a bigger truism. But that is what public discourse has come to, the inability to say the truth.

It keeps coming back to Gab. You have a low-class group of people there, but by gawd you got free speech.

The digital wasteland

Too much information on the information superhighway. As someone born in the 1950s, I feel like I’m bridging the gap between the ‘old world’ and the ‘new world’. FYI you young people, looking up answers in the old days consisted of going to the book shelf and choosing the encyclopedia volume that corresponded with the first letter of your question. The information was likely very good but it could easily have been 25 years or more since the said encyclopedia article was written!

Nowadays if someone dies or is impeached that information will have been edited into Wikipedia by the end of the day if not a couple of hours. Moss is not to be found growing on the IS (information superhighway). It shares many aspects with a conventional highway. Rude drivers. Traffic tie-ups. Accidents. Potholes. Highway bandits and scam artists. Hitchhikers. You can get lost. Its all there.

Another aspect I recently noticed was the boredom of “routine”, like taking the same route to work everyday, it can become rather tedious. Having been kicked off Twitter long ago, two of my favorite sites were Facebook and Gab. Facebook is so slow compared to Twitter. As has been said before Twitter is like ‘crack’ to news junkies. It is fast. Plus there are just a lot of vile people on FB. Liberals lurking about on conservative pages like trolls under a bridge.

Gab is okay once you get all the Nazis, racists and anti-Semites blocked. Some real good people. I’ve noticed a curious little aspect of it though. 2 of the absolute best people left and never came back. One was the group moderator, Dave Gilchrist and the other was a regular contributor, Diane Shearer. He was religious about hitting ‘Like’ when people contributed to his group. She was arguably the best contributor.

Both left. I can’t say for sure, but I wonder if it wasn’t due to a lack of reciprocity. Like society in general the internet is absolutely filled with selfish individuals. Most of it is a dark, violent Darwinian nightmare. Survival of the fittest. Gab to a large degree is filled with Twitter’s rejects and people who are very cynical people for other reasons. Norms wouldn’t catch the meaning of half that was said there.

But FB & Gab were getting very tiresome. So I started to visit some of my old haunts from nearly 20 years ago. The first was World Net Daily. It may be the conservative website most likely to brush up against the edge. One slightly more traditional site is Newsmax (spellcheck doesn’t even recognize its spelling). The New Revere (as in ‘Paul’) gave me their choice for ‘The Top 100’ conservative websites.

While a lot of them might be more accurately put in the Top 100 Republican sites, there are some interesting choices. One I had completely forgotten about was Free Republic. All these years later and Jim Robinson is still running it. I don’t begin to understand that site at this point, but it is interesting. Absent was The New American. Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Coulter and Steyn all had their websites in the “Top 100”.

Once you start branching out on the “information superhighway”, you feel a little like a first time driver suddenly placed on the Los Angeles freeway system. As I wound up this post and got ready to hit ‘publish’, the thought occurred to me; are there commie lib sites like these? Is there a list of Top 100 Liberal sites?

The bottom line is, while there is more information available to a person today than in the days of the World Book encyclopedia, there is unquestionably less wisdom. As I have said for 20 years, it is very easy to get bogged down in “factoids”, and completely miss the big picture.

[As an interesting little postscript I thought I’d describe the sites I landed on so as to get off Facebook, Twitter and Gab. Free Republic turned out to be a bust, incredibly bad site design, no feedback on your comments and they are moderated, plus they have a lot of RINOs. World Net Daily is really good, though you don’t get much feedback on your comments. Great articles, though not as fast a turnover as some sites. You sign in with something like Disqus to comment. The #1 conservative site according to The New Revere was FOX News. They are pretty darn good. Lots of feedback on comments, easy to signup to comment. Lot of good turnover of articles. Probably the worst thing about FOX is that they are a target for liberal trolls. CNN as an example doesn’t have “comments”, so the liberals have no where to go to shoot off their idiot mouths. Regrettably they seem to end up on FOX. You are able to give them a ‘thumbs down’, but otherwise of course I don’t engage them. No the most interesting site I saved for last: Western Journal. I consider myself fairly aware of conservative organizations, but I had never heard of WJ. Their conservatism seems more paleo than neo, which is good, they have an easy signup and good content selection. But when I first got on there I was constantly getting suspended. They like nice little milk toast comments and no links.]
