There was another meme that said it in a different way. It said imagine what the reaction would be if it was a Democrat administration that had “right wing militias” taking over cities, might the reaction be slightly different? No kidding. Rush came up with a great insight as to why Trump doesn’t “call out the military” on the rioters. He said the generals are in open rebellion and likely wouldn’t follow his orders.
[As to the question, “Would they be treating right wingers this way?” The answer is no, they wouldn’t.]
Incumbent Representative (there’s actually no such thing as a “Congressman”) Steve King loses the primary to Randy Feenstra. Incumbent Senator Joni Ernst is trailing in the polls to challenger Theresa Greenfield. President Trump is trailing dementia patient Joe Biden by 14 points. Jedediah Grassley better thank his lucky stars he’s not up for reelection this year. I got the feeling a meteor is going to take out a lot of dinosaurs this year.
Perhaps the funniest thing about all this is I’m not sure how many people see it coming. Incumbents don’t lose in Iowa. Comrade Harkin could have been Senator for life, but he chose to walk away. Grassley is Senator for life. I don’t know if the Register sees it coming, I quit reading it 4 years ago. I’m pretty sure WHO radio’s 2 Wizards of talk don’t see it (Angelo & Conway). I think this will be as earth shaking as 2014 when House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost. THAT was a good year.
Trump’s going to be a 1 termer. I’ll stake my reputation as a political genius on that. A million new Mexican voters each year for 4 years. 24/7 bad press for the past 4 years. An economy in the tank. Racial unrest. And most importantly, he abandoned his base. He (with the help of a Republican Congress) didn’t advance 1 item he ran on in 2016. Ain’t no way he wins. As someone astutely pointed out, some of his Tweets show a person who no longer wants to be President.
So there you are. We’re left with this incredible situation where you can’t figure out if its more amazing that Joe Biden is the best the Democrats could come up with? Or that he could win?
[The paragraph below is from ThoughtCo.com. They give a little background on the Tea Party movement. They understand the Tea Party despises RINOs as much as Democrats. Which explains why the establishment just hated Sarah Palin.]
“When Palin joined the Republican ticket, people suddenly started attending rallies. McCain events had to be moved to larger venues. Rather than attracting hundreds of people like McCain had been doing, Palin was attracting thousands instead. Palin was hard-hitting, despite being seemingly restrained by the establishment. She gave one of the greatest convention speeches ever, where she hit out at Barack Obama and saw her popularity soar. She connected with people. And while she was eventually destroyed and rendered ineffective during the 2008 campaign, her ability to actually get thousands of people to rally for a cause would jump-start the future tea party movement, and she would eventually become the top draw at future tea party events nationwide.”
“The fundamental source of all your errors, sophisms and false reasonings is a total ignorance of the natural rights of mankind. Were you once to become acquainted with these, you could never entertain a thought, that all men are not, by nature, entitled to a parity of privileges. You would be convinced, that natural liberty is a gift of the beneficent Creator to the whole human race, and that civil liberty is founded in that; and cannot be wrested from any people, without the most manifest violation of justice.” — Alexander Hamilton
“Let the laws be clear, uniform and precise; to interpret laws is almost always to corrupt them.” — Voltaire
Death by bureaucrat. When governments take on duties beyond their assigned scope, bad things happen. Every time there is a crisis the ineptness of bureaucrats rears their ugly head. I always think back to Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans Mayor Ray “School Bus” Nagin. People in I believe it was the ‘9th Ward’ needed to be evacuated. A fleet of 150 schools buses might have gone a long way in that endeavor wouldn’t it? Instead they sat there and became de facto submarines.
In the current crisis the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trump haters are willing to let people die rather then let them use Hydroxychloroquine combined with zinc and azithromycin. Completely irrational. This from the same group that told us at the beginning, “Oh you don’t need masks!” Another thing they haven’t adapted to is HIPAA. Keep your privacy about broken legs, brain tumors and lung cancer, but the ultra privacy of HIPAA doesn’t really work with communicable diseases, does it?
Yeah you have to adapt the patient’s rights, with stopping them from killing others. A pandemic is a different ballgame isn’t it? Privacy will get you killed. Its like allowing AIDS patients to have unprotected sex with others without telling them. Your privacy ends where my death begins, doesn’t it? Bureaucrats just don’t (can’t) adapt to new parameters.
But perhaps the most aggravating failure of bureaucrats, is their inability to adapt to the changing paradigm of firearm ownership. We are not the same country we were in 1968. We do not have the same people. Yet we live under this false dialectic that we live under the current firearm rules, or we ban them. And that’s the way we’re headed.
But bureaucrats are singularly incapable of change. The current system does not work. Its not “Do nothing vs Ban them”. There is a third way. Change the rules. The year is 2020. We have way deadlier weapons. Way deadlier people. The rules have to change. When things are killing people unless we change, then change!
“One side has millions of guns and military veterans, the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use.”
This video based on the analysis of a government assessment expert of insurrection is very interesting. One example he uses is the “yellow vest” movement in France, by people who aren’t even armed. He talks about the relatively small numbers of people needed to push a revolution. He talks about those unhappy as “Trump voters”. The number of ex-military who are Trump sympathizers. The overwhelming number of gunowners who are on the right.
He talks about the vulnerability of the ‘grid‘ and other infrastructure, that the government would be much more dependent on. What he glosses over is the power of the surveillance State we live in. They would know well in advance any plans revolutionaries might have. Communications and organization in his scenario are everything. Nullifying anything rebels might have planned.
Their advantage in weapons and tactics would be offset by as he puts it, the government’s ineffectiveness in fighting 4th Generation guerilla warfare. Plus in a Civil War scenario he foresees mass desertions from the military. One aspect I think he completely misses is the “pussy factor” shown by most police forces. They tend to shit their pants and run in the face of determined opposition. As he put it for the situation in Afghanistan, “A bunch of 90 IQ’s in flip-flops gave the US Military all they could handle.”
If you bottom line it, what he’s saying is that because of immigration numbers, the Right will never win another national election. Therefore their option is to suffer progressive/communist rule, or fight. What he advocates is “peaceful separation” as the only solution.
The Prairie Home Companion aired on taxpayer funded radio for decades (it made Garrison Keillor a millionaire though). Like a lot of liberal entertainment, all the white people were nerdy and uncool. It was a mixture of song and jokes, and my favorite part: The News from Lake Wobegon. This fictitious Minnesota town was chockful of “Norwegian Lutherans”. The only thing more uncool than white people, was Jesus loving Christians.
Every week Garrison would tell about the silly shenanigans of those small town Minnesotans. Because white people and Christians are the only ones you can make fun of nowadays. Their church socials and Jello salads. Growing up in Iowa we always had a special relationship with Minnesota. It was not unheard of for Iowans to vacation up there 50 years ago. Sure we made ‘Minnesota jokes’, and they made ‘Iowa jokes’, It was all in fun because they were the best of people back then. Damn near as good as us.
They were like our cousins, the ugly cousin to be sure, but they were family. It ain’t that way today. Minnesota is a shithole. They brought in all those Somali savages with their bell-ringing Sharia shit, to the point I can’t imagine decent people would want to live there. Hell, they sent a terrorist to Congress! What its called is ‘population replacement’. Well you did it. How’s it working out for you?
I think you were a better State when all you had was those nerdy white people. Its okay to be white.
“This is why political correctness, or Cultural Marxism,… lends itself so fashionably to easy labels. Transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, racist, bigoted, Uncle Tom, white privilege, mansplaining. All of these are slapped on people with “politically incorrect” opinions in an attempt to silence you. Hate speech is inextricably tied to political correctness, or Cultural Marxism, and that creates intellectual conformity — or intellectual authoritarianism. And that’s where you start to see things like “safe spaces” or “trigger warnings” or speakers banned from campus, or people with unpopular opinions banned from social media.” — Steven Crowder http://libertytree.ca/quotes/Steven.Crowder.Quote.49F8
[The few times I was aware of Crowder at all I wasn’t that impressed. This quote however is a very good one. This technique of the Cultural Marxists has been absolutely devastating to those who value freedom. They essentially have “won” the debate. If you disagree with them, you instantly become a ‘hater’ or a ‘denier’. Reason goes out the window. They wouldn’t be able to do this without their echo chamber, the media. But when you have everyone repeating the company line it makes people nervous to go against the tide. Most people are beaten into submission. Their takeover of academia and the media was brilliant. Hollywood. The power of propaganda is overwhelming.]
“Democracy leads to anarchy, which is mob rule.” — Plato (429-347 BC) Greek philosopher
He weren’t no dummy. He’s also proof that what our founders knew 200 years ago, he knew 2,000 years ago, and that we promptly forgot. Democracy (The form of government deriving from the Greek terms “demos” and “kratien” or “kratos”) ‘the people to rule’, or power of the people. Mob rule. It seemed really relevant when mobs of looters are roaming the streets. People knew we were a Republic up through the 1920’s. People forget though that the Bolshevik revolution wasn’t confined to Russia. It hit here first in our school system, where they could teach succeeding generations we were this sweet sounding word “democracy”. Thereby instead of having limited government, all we now needed was 51 percent, and anything was possible.
You’d never know it from listening to “news” radio WHO 1040 am, but there’s a primary today. I have no idea what the important issues or races are. The media today has no concept of conveying information. All they are concerned about is revenue. The only interesting race I was able to glean for today was Iowa’s 4th District (we used to have 7). Steve King against Randy Feenstra (above) and a gaggle of others. The others will split the vote enough so King slips in. Their 1%, 3%, 1% and 2% (7%) will be what Feenstra loses by. Democrats have the chance of a lifetime to switch parties for a day and take out King in June instead of losing to him in November, but they’re too stupid. So instead we’ll have King for another 20 years. If there’s enough “mo” to overthrow King I’d be surprised. And a lot of it will be because what used to be the ‘engine’ of conservative politics in Iowa, WHO radio, ran out of gas. Nobody knew about the race.
[The idiocy of party politics was thrust into my face in 2002 when Bill Salier ran to unseat ultra-liberal Tom Harkin. Salier first had to beat Representative Greg Ganske. You knew a conventional establishment candidate like Ganske would get wiped out in the general, and he did. In situations like that you need a guerilla candidate. Someone with charisma, momentum. But on primary night the party zombies turned out and pulled the establishment lever. That’s all they know. They’re just zombies. They don’t think. The only chance Feenstra has is the Blue Bloods are sick of King. The top has abandoned King, we’ll see if the base does.] (6/5/20 update: King lost.)
This quote has always stuck with me. If you know the origins of our form of government it makes complete sense. “Enumerated” powers mean we the people list what functions we’ll allow the government to perform. Through the Bill of Rights we further limit what the government can do. Not us, the government. Our Constitution was written to give the people great latitude in the way they chose to conduct their lives.
In fact it was the complete opposite of the nanny state we have now. If you wanted to do stupid things that would ruin your life, they said, “Have at it!” The difference then was no one was going to bail you out when you drove into the ditch.
It was the polar opposite of what we have now. Just this year the government is stripping us of our rights under the guise of dealing with a pandemic. Race riots originating in Minneapolis are further destabilizing society. The economic upheaval as a result COVID-19 expenses are going to create great strife in groups used to handouts. An election year filled with this much chaos and will be exacerbated by the media and the Democrats to cause as much bedlam as possible to insure Trump’s defeat.
Already we have people being prosecuted for protecting their property against the looters. Clearly I think its the government’s attempt to send a clear message: You are not to be self-sufficient! Government does not shrink, it only grows. Independent people do not need Big Government.
“We deployed a major update to Gab Social May 15, 2020. The update resulted in a huge uptick in traffic, which resulted in our current servers being stretched to capacity.
Thankfully, we have new and more capable server hardware that we have been building for exactly this reason. The new servers are almost complete, and the team will begin migrating Social to them shortly.
We will be posting updates to the Gab Status page on our blog while working hard to get this done as quickly as possible.”

[Their site crashed from all the new visitors! Freedoms last online hope crashed just when it was taking off. I hope they don’t lose their new guests. 5/29/20 update: Torba seems really pumped about the new traffic. Their site was down for about a week getting new servers. In that time President Trump’s feud with Twitter has really escalated. This is a very serious issue. I don’t begin to understand how he and other conservatives choose to fight this war. If he and the majority of well known conservatives would just leave Twitter, that platform would die on the vine. What planet are they from that they think they can expect rational behavior out of liberals? Don’t get it, haven’t got it, never will understand this. Liberals are irrational psychopaths but they are very good streetfighters. They are not interested in playing fair. They are not interested in having a “debate“. They are interested in winning. That is all.]
